Abertis and the Abertis Foundation have been promoting the creation of different Chairs since 2003, in collaboration with renowned national and international universities and academic institutions.
Aware of the importance of the link between the academic world and social and economic progress, Abertis promotes training, research and knowledge transfer between university and business.

Abertis Puerto Rico Awards Rules 2023
1. Open to university students who have completed postgraduate, master's or doctoral studies in all universities of Puerto Rico in 2023.
2. The awards can be submitted for doctoral theses, master's dissertations, research-based final master's projects or works, or other research studies developed within the academic field, of which the student must be the sole author.
3. Submitted works must have been defended or presented during the year 2023 (date must be stated in the research paper).
4. Works can be written in any Romance language or in English.

ABERTIS AWARDS FOR SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY RESEARCH – PUERTO RICO 2023
Total prize pool of 7,000 euros, to be distributed among the winners of the different categories.
The jury may award one prize for doctoral theses and another for the rest of the works (master's theses, dissertations, etc.), distributing the amount of 7,000 euros between the two prizes in a way that it considers reasonable, taking as a reference
5,000 euros for doctoral theses
2,000 euros for other works
From the gross amount received by the winners, the withholdings on account of personal income tax (IRPF) applicable according to current tax regulations will be deducted.

- A one-page (or a few pages) summary in English (this can be the summary of the thesis or dissertation)
- A cover letter addressed to the Abertis Chair, with the contact details of the participant
- Quality indicators of the research work. For doctoral theses, include a list of articles or publications derived from the research carried out, main contributions, originality in relation to the state of the art, etc.
