EDC – Phase II


EDC INITIATIVES IN PUERTO RICO AND USVI

On December 2012, sponsorship of the EDC-1 innovations by the Every Day Counts initiative came to a close, and a new set of innovations, EDC-2, were selected for deployment. All of them provided ways of improving the work of highway planning, design, construction and operation. On April 2013, a new set of innovations were  presented through a Virtual Summit, with an excellent online participation across the country.

Due to the success of Every Day Counts 1 in Puerto Rico and the USVI, Puerto Rico LTAP was inquired by the FHWA, to participate in the implementation plan for the rapid deployment of proven solutions and technologies identified by the PRHTA. The role of Puerto Rico LTAP is to serve as a member of the EDC 2 Puerto Rico team, supporting the preparation of the implementation plan, and serving as a the primary coordinator/technical oversight of the required EDC 2 training program o implement five (5) EDC 2 strategies in Puerto Rico as well as being the primary coordinator of the seven (7) EDC 2 strategies for the USVI DPW.
